Bad Council Tarmac work !!

The council came to my parents and removed 4 cracked slabs, then poured course tarmac into the hole. The work took 20mins and the level is a good inch higher than the other slabs. My folks have just received an invoice for £500 as the council claims they cracked the slabs by having a skip delivered....

Wooden floor, one of the pieces doesn't match?

Hi, I've just laid a real wood floor (satin stained) and one of the packs was a different batch. Being slightly colour blind, I didn't notice. Is there a way to blend the 'Rustic oak' in with the odd board which is slightly redder. The problem is they are glued together.
