i've looked into this further and it looks like you can get jacking posts that they use on bay windows, some of them take upto 4 tonnes which is more than ample for my needs and will be a lot cheaper than a bricky and bricks, and will let more light in also.

brick piers - vertical dampcourse???

hi guys i'm after a bit of advice, i've got a sun room/conservatory in my house (roughly 4.8m x 3.0m), it's basically glass windows all the way round french doors at the front with a flat felt roof (8"x2", ply, 3 layers of felt) on top. see pic Google "sitehitz.com/conservatoryedit.jp...
