Anyone help, Im trying to make simple square frames from MDF, the MDF frame is 24 x 20 inches and the MDF is 1 inch thick, square. Im doing a butt joint and not mitring the corners. I pre-drill the holes, but when I put the screws in it splits right down the middle... am I doing it wrong? are there...

I am trying to fit a new letterbox onto a wooden doorway. The door's 10 years old as is the letterbox and modern letterboxes seem to be a different size. I am fitting new skriting boards after laying a laminate floor. How do I acheive perfect corners on shaped skirting, a simple 45' cut will not work dont use a jigsaw as that will be very rough coping saw is just fine. easy way to do this is cut a scribe that its the backwards profile of the skirtin...

if i was u i would buy a timber scotia mould and fit it to the perimeter this way will save you a lot of time and money. if you decide to trim the bottoms off ur skirting make sure its tounge an groove boards cuz you will neva do it if the floor is the standard laminated system :)
