Wiring problem HELP!!!

Hi, i recently changed a strip light in kitchen for a four bulb spot light, now whenever the light in the kitchen is on a light in another room wont work and vice versa. They both work properly, ie they switch on and off when being used individually but you cant have both of them on at the same time...
