Stoneyboy is right but once the source has been fixed you need to dry the wall otherwise you will have mould or condensation problems in other parts of the house for some months especially during the winter.

Stone walls generally hold a small amount of moisture as there is normally no DPC. When they were built they were unpainted and the moisture breathed out of the stone on dry days. The brick retaining walls should never be painted. The brick needs to breath, by painting it you are trapping the water inside the wall and the paint will always fail
