Hot Water Cylinder Vent Pipe Question

Hi everyone, Hoping someone can answer a question that's been frying my noggin. I won't bore you with reasons for asking, but what I wanted to know is: I have a open vent system (F/E and CWS in loft) and h/w cylinder in airing cupboard. I know the cylinder has a vent/ expansion pipe that goes into t...

Lukewarm Hot Water - Hole in HWC Coil or Faulty 3 Way Valve?

Hi guys and gals, After a bit of advice please. We have a very odd ch system which was in the house when we moved in. Basically you cannot control the HW and CH separately, if you want one you have to have the other. In summer months we just turn off rads from the valves. This morning the HW was onl...

Re: How can I Patch a Hole in Cold Water Storage Tank lid?

Just an idea - would does anyone have an opinion on whether I would be able to cover the hole with plastic, just wondering if indeed under the humid / damp conditions of the underside of the tank lid that duct tape, or any tape for that matter might end up getting moldy.

How can I Patch a Hole in Cold Water Storage Tank lid?

Hello! Looking for some advice please. Just noticed that my cw tank in the loft has quite a big hole in the lid. What looks like has happened is a hole was made for the vent pipe from the hot water cylinder, and for whatever reason the hole was in slightly the wrong place, so a second hole has been ...

Thanks stoneyboy, much appreciated. Have turned down pump to lowest setting (out of three), will have to check whether this is still powerfull enough to circulate water to heat all the rads. Hi plastic_man77 Thank you for your reply. Due to the layout of the vent pipework and location of trusses in the loft I think blowing down the vent may prove to be a bit tricky, I will perhaps try attaching a hose and doing it that way, or alternatively, and far easier will try bleeding the rads and...
