Thanks. I had a roofer round today who priced me up some roof vents. (1 every 2 meteres.) Says I'm looking at about £2000 to sort it out. :shock:

We suffer with bad condensation on our windows and plasterwork around them. I have just been in the loft and found that the roof is covered in condensation. I am about to refurbish our new house and have a fair bit of internal work to do. I want to re floor board several of the bedrooms and will be leaving them as bare boards (although varnished) and do the usual skirting boards and architrave as I go through the house. scott b, Water entering the top of the window and getting inside may be due to poor installation. At cill level this could be bridging of the closed cavity. Check to see if the problem exists only on the new windows. end Thanks for teh help. I presumed the damp at the top may well be down to poorly...

Damp plaster around windows.

Hi all. I have just moved into a new house (built around 1980). The house is double glazed with some windows being newer than others. I expect a bit of condenation however the plaster at the sides of the inner window sill and the plaster on the top edge of the window is mouldy on a lot of the window...
