hi, Its ok to have junctuion boxes but it better to rewire the link in your ring main than to use a junction box. The more breaks that you have in a circuit can result in having more chance of a fault arising if not connected properly. Yes, you can spur off of a junction box but only once per box.

Hi, although the cables will be ok, it is extremely rough that the cables aren`t concealed in conduit. The main danger is that if you ever fix anything to a wall that cables run down, you may puncture them and have to go through a lot of hassle getting the problem fixed. hey, If you want all of your sockets to be RCD protected without rewiring, or just some selected sockets. Any good retailer will sell a socket with an integrated RCD. ie, the test and reset button are on the individual socket.
