Dot and Dab on Wood Studded Wall in 1930's Property

Hi all, I am trying to put up some plasterboard on a studded wall in a 1930`s home, I was wondering if i could use a few window packers to get a straight level and to dot and dab between the spacers and put drywall screws in the next day,

garden soil

I have just started to take some soil out of my garden .Its going to cost me 800 pound to remove the soil from my home.I just wondered if soil was sellable ..I could do with the cash...If so whats it worth ..regards .Rhurbarb

Recently i have had double glazing fitted in my home and was surprised by the amount of traffic noise coming through them ..Taking in consideration mind no plasterboard up yet ,i was just wondering if sand and cement would be a option for taking the place of foam around the frames?Appreciate any hel...
