This is a camel coloured carpet and the stain (caused by hot iron) is dark & sticky, like rubber.Trying to clean it with supermarket-bought carpet cleaner made it even worse. What can I do? My mother-in-law suggested that I leave it to dry and call a carpet fitter. Will it not cost a fortune to ...

We didn't even have to bleach it- it started disappearing as soon as we moved the bed and would probably be gone in the next few weeks.
Should we re-paint the wall now?
Is there a special type of paint to prevent this problem?

We've never had this problem before, in all the houses we've lived: We've been here for about four years now and just moved the bed for my spring cleaning: the wall behind the bed head has a huge black stain on it! buying a stepladder

would love some tips about buying a good ladder- I generally hate heights and fell off a ladder when I was young, so quite nervous about it, but there are lightbulbs needing change etc and I just can't ignore that. I see there are 95kg and 150kg ones, I'm slightly over 95, would I have to buy a 150k...
