Ho, yes that sounds like it, the top department is for cold water, it is about 30cm deep and water flow is regulated by the ball (like in the toilet). I can't really see much of the rest of the tank beacuse it's in a corner and behind a piece of wood. Thanks for your help,

Is it ok to close an open-top water tank of electric heater?

Hi, Would it be safe to put something (perhaps a a piece of wood?) on top of the water tank of an electric immersion water heater? It is making a lot of noise (not only the splashing water) and I'm sure it's disturbing the neighbours as it's quite loud. It also had gathered a lot of dirt at the top ...
