Renovating plaster

Hi, what plaster did you use when you were replastering? Tarmac limelite or similar would have been suitable as it is water repellent but allows the walls to breathe and thus evaporation can take place. I've not read much with a positive slant towards injected dpc in stone work...depends on the meth...

Orlandowren- a couple of points. 1. The damp test is open to scrutiny depending on how the test was carried out. If the areas tested were done so with a calcium carbide meter or hygrometer than the findings should be reasonably accurate but if (most likely) they were done using an electrical resista...

Hi, what makes you think that this is rising damp? True rising damp is rare, what is much more common is condensation, rain penetration or drainage defects. Its difficult to see from your picture but it appears that the damp patch is on the window reveal which may well indicate condensation issues- ...
