Re: WC Close Coupling Kit -Are Backplates Standard Sizes?

Hi cicero This very day, I've spent a good few hours with exactly that problem. Mine was not standard, I'm not happy ! The parts available from DIY outlets and plumbers merchants are all about the same. It's just that there are a few toilets that just don't comply. In those cases the best you can d...

WC Close Coupling Kit -Are Backplates Standard Sizes?

Hi, everyone

I need to replace the syphon on my close coupled WC and want to also replace the washer backplate etc.

As I can't measure anything unless I take it all apart first can anyone tell me if the backplates and so on are all a standard size please?

Many thanks.

Re: Burglar Alarm Advice Needed

Hi, ericmark Thanks for the response. I've been looking at a number of diy alarms but having had a quote from a professional installer the difference in cost isn't that great and the company is SSAIB registered so the not very large additional cost is in this instance worthwhile I think. Incidentall...

Burglar Alarm Advice Needed

Having just had someone attempt to force open two bedroom windows, but fortunately failing to do so, I have decided, after years of "thinking about it", to fit a burglar alarm. Having no knowledge of them can anyone suggest a reasonably priced and hopefully reliable product wired or wirele...

Waterproof sealant.

I have a piece of hardwood across the front of my garage to prevent water getting in under the door but the sealant, which was put down when the garage was erected, is not doing the job and water is still getting in. Can anyone suggest what is the best sealant to use under the timber or indeed any o...
