Punctured wheelbarrow.

Our 2 year old wheelbarrow's tyre has gone flat. As far as I can see there is no valve to inflate it. What do we do now??

The main reason I asked the question has nothing to do with views or enjoyment of our garden. While our neighbour controls the height of his side of the hedge very well we are having difficulty controlling the branches which encroach on our side. I know that we have the right to remove branches whic...

Hedge heights?

The general consensus seems to be that a hedge between neighbouring gardens should be no higher than approx. 2 metres. What I would like to know is which side of the hedge the height measurement should be taken. My neighbour has a well controlled leylandi hedge between our gardens, the only problem ...

Used white spirit.

I have just completed a small paint job, repainting a slightly tatty mirror frame. After cleaning the brush I am now left with half a jam jar of used white spirit. What does one do with this! It cannot be poured down the sink or buried in the garden -- so what can I do with it??

Last year my wife took a pressure washer to our back steps as they were mossy and slippery. Unfortunately she used too high a pressure and has washed away the smooth top coat of cement/concrete and now the small pebbles and filler? under the lost top coat are crumbling away. Can someone help with su...

Hot water storage tank.

I'm not sure exactly where I should post this so I'll try the obvious place first. The immersion heater in the top of the storage tank seems to have failed and I intend to have it replaced however I have noticed that there is another red circular cover at the bottom of the tank which looks exactly l...

Changing MCB in consumer unit.

I've had a look and a search so I'll just ask and see what happens. One of the MCB's in my consumer unit appears to have failed. I have no intention of touching it personally but just as a matter of interest how does one get the old one out and fit the new one? It looks as though it should just unpl...
