This is the way I was going to go with it but just wanted to make sure there wasn't a special reason for it being on the downstairs circut.

Downlighers in upstairs ceiling.

I am fitting some downlighters in an upstairs ceiling they are fire rated but I am worried about the loft insulation and the heat they give off, I have seen metal box's in B & Q that you can put round them but there expensive for what they are, was thinking of making my own out of sheet metal un...

Landing light, upstairs or downstairs circut?

What circut should my landing light be on the upstairs or downstairs?
It has a switch at the bottom of the stairs and at the top.
At the moment it is wired to the downstairs circut.

What is a standard depth of steel box to use for flush mounting sockets and also light switchs,
