I personally think its nessessary to use angle beads, it gives a nice straight edge finish to skim up to, gives a tough edge to the reveals and when its painted you cant see it metal. why wouldnt you use them !?

Yeah run a bucket trowel along the bead to scrape out the bonding, think this is called 'corking"
