Brick Cleaner!!

Hi all I recently had some idiots in to try and clean my granite worktops in the kitchen. They used brick cleaner and they spilled some on my porcelain tiles. The marks are not too bad, the tiles are a cream colour, but if you stand above the tiles you can see dark stains on them, similar to water s...

Earthing Question

Could some one please tell me in the event of an earth fault, what will operate and disconnect the supply of an istallation with earthed equipotential bonding and automatic disconnection where the circuit is not protected by and RCD?

Many thanks.

Aquapanel isn't cheap, i'm not sure if it is fireproof, if it isn't fireproof then you don't need aquapanel on your ceiling, its ideal for shower areas etc, in fact, i know many plasterers who use normal board in shower areas, once it is tiled, tiled properly i mean, its normally not a problem. If y...

A picture would be good, but if the wooden laths are rotten you need to remove these and then screw plaster board into the joists, board the whole ceiling and skim.

I'd first try and find out what caused the crack, if you have movement in your ceiling even if you board over it and skim you will end up with another crack. If you have movement in your ceiling fix that first.

GET IT CHECKED! depending on the age of your house it could contain asbestos, i'm not shocked to hear that building control have not heard of this coz most of them are muppets. if you were simply plastering over it, you could have boarded over it first then skimmed it, but if you need to remove the ...

hi to get really sharp corners once the plaster is going off, use a wet paint brush, do not push too hard as you will get brush marks, if you do end up with brush marks use your trowel to get them out. you can also get a special angeled trowl for corners, but most of the time these make more mess th...
