Extractor fan position in bathroom

I have a condensation/mould issue in my bathroom despite the fact that there is a window which I mostly leave open. An extractor can't be installed in the top 40cm of the exterior wall as it's a concrete supporting beam at that point. Would an extractor still be effective if installed at shower heig...

Hob position in kitchen

I have a small kitchen with very limited places that a hob could go. Is there a minimum distance that it has to be from a window or a boiler?

Squeaky newly layed engineered floating wood floor

I had an engineered wood floor layed in my lounge 2 weeks ago. It squeaks/creaks to walk on, particularly in the middle of the room. Is this normal? Or could it be because the expansion gap left was not big enough?

Where do wiring & reinforcements reside in walls?

I'm about to put up some shelving onto an internal wall. I believe the wall is mostly brick but it's a late 60's building so is it likely to have steel/concrete reinforcements in places? Also, I am not sure exactly where the lighting circuit runs. Would it be at the same height as the light switches...
