Do you mean they left the debris in the tank so it is floating around - thats pretty poor, but its not going to hurt you to fish it out. Dry the pipes using a cloth or a tissue and see where it is coming from..... if it starts from a nut it is a leak and and the joint needs attention, if it is condensation lag the pipes (hot and cold). I would suggest doing these tests with the heating off for a day to minimise the chance of condensa...

You have to claim it back, using a signed customer rebate form signed by the customer. I can't see how it is a rip off from the installer perspective as you claim back £300...... so its just £300 you would have got anyway, the only downside being a possible delay in receiving the said money as it is...

Id imagine the noises may just be some residual air trapped rom the draing/filling process.... see if it works its way out.

Thanks for your reply htg There is definately no leaks above floor level on that rad - unless it is a microleak too small for water....... the pipework under the floor is all soldered and no compression joints apart from the actual rad valves above floor. I know this as I have had the floorboards up...

You may need to balance the cylinder coil by adding a gate valve to the return allowing you to throttle back the hot water the same as balancing a radiator.

My feed and return are 15mm under the floor boards but 22mm from boiler and primaries and thus are reduced somewhere after the motorised valve.

Lift a floorboard and take a look.

I was sure until I read your post - it looked like it to me from the photo.

I maybe mistaken...... if there is a nut there it can be undone if there isnt it cant! :)
