Difficulty getting watertight seals on Bath & Sink Waste

This is driving me mad!

Installed new bath & sink - all gone fine apart from both leak from the plug holes. Have tightened as much as can without overtightening, have put more robust washers on, have tried adding sealant but still both leak.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers,

Removal of Gas Fir- Is brick arch Lintel safe?

Hi, Had a gas fire removed and am looking to get rid of the old firebox and extra brickwork that's been added into the original hole so I can put a (purely decorative) cast iron fireplace in. It sticks out at the moment so needs to be removed. I've chipped back the plaster to look for the lintel so ...

Fitting Oven Under Gas Hobb

Hi - Despite telling the guy who fitted my Gas hob that the oven was going under it he managed to run a pipe complete with tap at the back of the carcass which means my oven will now butt right up to the tap (which is plastic coated). Is this going to be a problem in terms of heat generated by the o...

Pipes Humming Very Loudly

Hi, I'm housesitting for a friend for a while and have a problem with their water system. After running any of the Hot taps for a while the pipes in the bathroom start to hum really loudly. The only way to stop it is to turn on the bathroom sink tap for a few seconds. Is this some kind of problem wi...

Supplementary Bonding Required?

Hi,

Am planning on a complete re-jig of my bathroom so I'll be using pushfit joints with plastic piping to the bath, Radiator and sink. Does this mean that there's no need for any supp bonding?

Cheers, chris.

Bathroom Electrics Quandry

I have a large bathroom so want to put my washer and dryer in there, but obviously the electrics are the problem. I've been advised that by building them into a cupboard it's effectively a different room so i can put a socket in there. So far so good. My questions are: 1) As the dryer is a condensor...
