Re: Help with new Kitchen drainage please

Thank you stoneyboy, appreciate your reply. Yes, agreed a 92.5 degree bend will facilitate flow as well as accommodate solvent fixing to the hopper. Now here is my remaining dilemma, considering the tiled floor going down, which once down I NEVER want to touch again. Do I go through the floor and ou...

Help with new Kitchen drainage please

I am installing a new kitchen in a room with no services, including drainage. The drainage is required for a sink and adjacent dishwasher. Unfortunately the kitchen installer I have employed does not seem to know about this part of the job, so I am trying to work it out. The floor will be tiled, so ...

Success with old cement

It is wise to use cement by the date specified to avoid increasing the risk of allergic reaction to the chemicals. There is allergy protection in new cement but that quickly degrades. That aside I think I have proven that dry cement is useable for a long time after its use by date. I have just used ...

Can I Remove or Reposition Timber Roof Cross Braces - Advice on Options Needed

I would like to remove them or reposition them higher up in the roof space. They sit on the support but are...

Re: Block Built Chimney Leak Repair

Thanks Welsh Brickie - good advice. I had to do the work last weekend and did something on a similar theme to your suggestion. No bell but I formed a curved rib to cover the lead and add some depth and strength to the cement which was made with waterproofer added. Managed to get the job done in one ...

Block Built Chimney Leak Repair

Hi My block built chimney is leaking a little water into the loft. It is where the haunching at the back of the chimney that covers the lead flashing has blown from the blocks leaving a small gap for the rain to penetrate. I am going to replace the cement to reseal the flashing but have no waterproo...

Toilet overflow joining main waste?

Hi I am renting out a property and there has been a problem with a toilet. New plastic waste fittings have been fitted to the toilet which is only a matter of 6-7 feet from the sewer it flows into. The plumber has cut a hole into the waste pipe that leaves the toilet and inserted the cistern overflo...
