cavity insulation

The next door bungalows,owned by the council, have been cavity insulated. Could I insulate mine by pouring vermiculite down into the cavity from the wall plate in the loft..why not..saves on drilling and would be better than none?

I'm going to fit an oil fired central heating system the boiler could fit in the kitchen but i would rather put it in the brick built shed about 3 metres from the back door .The shed has electricity and h&c water ,for the washing machine.Any limits on how far away the boiler could be and what so...
