The reg. is for your sockets the other way arround :)
You label them Fridge, freezer etc, so people DONT plug in extension leads to take outside.
Its for plug in equipment on the manufactorers supplied lenght lead and plug, thats why they are moulded plastic and cant be removed.

You are trying to calculate the cross sectional area, this is the formula Pi times the radius squared. That gives you 1.7/2 radius= 0.85 Pi= 3.14159265 =0.85*0.85*3.1415926 = 2.2698 Times 7 strands 2.2698*7=15.8886mm Squared This is subject to the accuracy of the micrometer measurement of the strand...
