The present shower is a 10kW one and looks to wired with 10mm cable. I simply don't know if there is an issue with low pressure, the cold kitchen tap runs as well as our previous house so I expect pressure is ok. I've assumed that the reason for the pump and header is that they wanted a higher press...

Shower pump identification - I don't understand!!!!

Hi Not sure if or how to post picture on here so please look at attached link. I have a shower pump in the attic and having looked at the pump (see picture) I have no idea what pressure the thing generates!! Can someone interpret and tell me whether it would generate over 1.5 bar? Or even tell me wh...

Shower issues

I've got a pretty ancient 'Dolphin 1000' electric shower (so only cold feed to shower) which is plumbed via a small satellite header tank to the main water tank. The supply is boosted by a real noisy pump sited next to the small tank in the loft. The shower seems to be gradually dying - pitiful supp...

Found elsewhere suggestion that you drill 3 overlapping holes with a 20mm drill bit and then clean up with a chisel - sounds a bit more feasible.

Arris rails - How do you make the holes in the posts?

Probably a stupid question but how do you make the holes in the posts. Or do you buy posts with these ready done? Before I start with my chisel and a heavy heart, has anyone got any tips or hints? Just looking to do a small run of closeboard fencing on a slope (hence not fence panels - don't like th...

A quick theoretical question re:max RSJ lengths

I have an existing one storey extension which I would like to build upon but the foundations are insufficient. I would like the minimum amount of disruption to life as this extension contains kitchen etc. The existing extension has two rooms on either end which are non essential and I was wondering ...

Replacement Cold Water (Loft) Tank

This morning started with me discovering a leak from the cold water tank in the loft. It seems to have split, rotting the timber on which it was sitting. I now need to replace the tank with another and the supporting wood work. So a couple of questions: 1) How big a tank do I need to have in a 4 bed...
