Repost - Smell from waste pipe

I got no replies last time so I will ask again - I have found quite a few posts about smells from bathroom drainage but all appear to have the smell in the bathroom. My problem is different in that the smell appears outside in the drain. I know it is not the drain itself - I have checked that by run...

Smell from bathroom drainage

I have found quite a few posts about smells from bathroom drainage but all appear to have the smell in the bathroom. My problem is different in that the smell appears outside in the drain. I know it is not the drain itself - I have checked that by running water into it from a hosepipe. We also do no...

thermostatic shower valve problem

I fitted a new thermo shower valve about 2 years ago but I now have a problem with it. There is no hot water coming through. The power pump is working ok. The hot water is getting as far as the valve itself - (pipes are hot up to the valve) I suspect that it is the thermostat itself inside the mixer...

Boxing in utility meters

My daughter has just moved into a terraced house that has both the gas and electric meters in the front room. They are both in the alcove between the chimney breast and the front wall. I want to box this area in to make a worktop/storage area on the top and access via 2 doors on the front. I thought...
