If it’s a council home, you should just call them out.

Don’t touch it or you would invalidate your tenancy and lose your home.

Right this sounds like a faulty stopcock or an air lock. Make sure your tank is filling, if it’s not sure that all of your stopcocks are open, it’s easy to turn one off and forget about it. If your tank is full, then test the water out pipe. Make sure the gate valves are open and working. And tr...

First let me say I am not going to second guess on a plumber who looks at it in person. The water should always be clear on heating system, if its not there a problem. If the water not clear that means there no inhibitor in the system and its rusting the inside of your heating system. But when I thi...

It’s a radiator-balancing problem The lock shields need to be look at to ensure an equal distribution of hot water. It’s a slow job, but you can do it with a small spanner. You just open the last radiator lock shield to full, then work back to the first on one the heating system turning each one...

I think what’s happening here is your boiler is working to keep your cylinder warm and not your radiators. If you have thermostatic radiator valves, you need to have a by pass radiator on all the time, so the boiler does not over heat if there all reach the right temp. If you have a frost thermost...

It sounds to me that your 2-way/3-way valve is jammed with sludge or just failed.

A 2 way valve does hot water or heat.

A 3 way does hot water or heat or both.

You need to have a pro look at it.

Is your soil pipe below a window or is it 3 meters above the top of the window? If your soil pipe is below a window you need an AAV, but if it’s above it you don’t. I would get your plumber back if it’s below the window level and let him sort it out. A 32 mm AAV would work but you may have a p...

This is so funny Ok folks your cylinders only hold about 115 litres of hot water, your shower pumps run at about 15-40 litres a min. So you only have about 10-3 mins of hot water before you run out. The reason for your pumps dieing is that they are just running out of water. You if have a look at yo...

1 inch is 25 mm and they’re a few ways of doing this. But the simple ways are: You can just get mi coupler size 22mm x 1inch, and then put a 22mm to 15 mm reducer in which will cost about £13, £3 for the fitting and about £10 for the copper pipe. Or use MDPE Blue pipe size 25mm and do the pipe ...

I know this may sound funny, but this is an airflow problem. You will find that the rooms do feel cold in the winter and hot and stuffy in the summer. This is the odd thing about houses and insulation is that: you need some drafts in your home. The reason that the room are feeling cold in the winter...
