Thanks for your answers I have a new boiler which is turned down to minimum, The stat on the hw cylinder is new, because I was suspicious of the old one. The new one is set for 50 degrees, but the hot water seems hoter than that. When you turn down the stat it clicks and the a- valve operates. I jus...

hot water cylinder

My hot water cylinder is 20 years old, and the water gets very hot. Is there an easy way of telling whether it needs replacing. ie temperature difference between thermostat and hot water feed pipe on top of the tank
