Is there a simple way of installing a 22mm feed from my hot water cylinder which I will then attache to a shower pump ?

Ideally the feed to a shower pump from the hot water cylinder should be a dedicated supply. But Is it acceptable for the feed to the pump to be supplied from the lower half of the cylinder's vent pipe ? I hope it is because that is what I would have to do when I fit a pump. :?
