Advice on Fitting 2nd Under Sink Water Heater

I'd really appreciate a bit of advice, I'm a diy plumber who's never flooded the house, not yet anyway. I'm hoping it's been competence more than luck. About 4 years ago I fitted an unvented under sink water heater in my bathroom. It's got a pressure relief valve on the cold feed side, going into a ...

Re: Domestic Earthing and RCDs

Thanks kbrownie and eric mark, and sorry for delay in replying. You've cleared up my understanding a bit more, and a bit more reading on my part has helped making the pieces fall into place. I never actually got to the bottom of my rcd trip, but to be fair, it only happened literally once in a blue ...

Domestic Earthing and RCDs

I'm not an electrician, just curious and I know I'm just missing something in my understanding.. I've had an rcd tripping and I'm doing all the usual fault finding to eventually sort it out. So I'm not worried nor asking for help with this. But I've been doing some reading about rcd's and domestic e...

Re: Shower internals waterproof?

Thanks again plumbob,

I know if you sealed it would only be at the top, I'd hate the thing to fill up and I do have an rcd.
But all you have said, makes good sense and I'll rest easy now.

Re: Shower internals waterproof?

Thanks Plumbob, I appreciate your comments. Yes I really do want to agree that I'm paranoid, but with respect I just cannot see why the rear panel which will inevitably have wall condensation running down it (Mira instal guide says "do not seal around the back of the appliance") has a 1.5 ...

Shower internals waterproof?

Thanks in advance for any replies. I've just bought a Mira Sprint electric shower. I've had the chance before fitting it to gaze over it and get less than happy over how water's not going to get inside and amongst the wiring. Granted, the innards look largely well protected from all but a pressure w...

Re: Tiling before shower tray and enclosure

Replying to my own post....

I meant water tray not tray water

I also just realised that I could tile after, with the cubicle not in situ, ie fit to the wall only the vertical rails that take the glass panels. That would at least remove the panels from risk of damage by me when tiling.

Tiling before shower tray and enclosure

Hello, any advice really appreciated. New here, my first ever post! I'm completely gutting my bathroom (no bath, just shower, sink, wc) and fitting all new. All good, solid walls, no stud partitions. Because I'm a bit concerned that I might damage the tray and enclosure if I tile after, I'm thinking...
