Thanks for your reply, certainly sounds like a good scheme, and saves on the need for 'dimmers', now I've just got to think about what style of lighting to use to make the most of it :)

Hmmm... good point. I am in 2 minds regarding the lighting really, and I have truely reached a point where I just can't decide. I either go with one set of lighting and fit a dimmer as described, (but now need to account for CFU as you have said :) ), or else I have 2 different lighting circuits, on...

In it's current setup my bathroom has the fairly usual arrangement of a single ceiling light, and a pull cord switch just inside the bathroom doorway. Ok, so SELV led lamps, with the transformer located outside the bathroom, and the bath side panel SCREWED to the bath frame would seem to cover all the above points.

Many thanks PB, the room is now all stripped back and coated with PVA. got the bonding plaster so will be fixing up any of the holes that I think are too big for just adhesive, but were too small to be patched with plasterboard sections.

Cheers, I didn't realise that I would be able to ask LACB for information. I was thinking that I would likely use SELV anyway, as whatever 'zone' they are classed as I would think that there is always a risk of water dripping down over them. Something like the LED lamps should be suitable I think? W...

Lights in Bath side Panel

I'm thinking of doing a bath panel with led lights in.

What 'zone' would the lights need to be? From what I've read 'under the bath' is unzoned, but at the same time I'm thinking water splashed over the side, or dripped, would mean that probably zone 0 / 1 would be needed?

Thanks, the boards on the whole do seem sound, it's literally just the surface paper that has come off. One board that I did damage a bit (and will need to be patched) I decided to open out the hole a bit so I could see what was behind it, and it seems that there is an egg-crate type construction go...

I'm quite happy to skim the walls myself, but I'd be worried that the plaster might not bond to the plasterboard very well, and then when I hang the tiles on it I could end up with the tiles AND the plaster coming off of the board?
