Try neat Pva glue first non toxic! You could skim over pva glue if that don't get rid of smell! Save taking back to wall! Smells like moulding washing! I'm a building and first time I have ever used crown and last! I have coated with paint but smell still there! I will not use there sealer as fumes ...

Try neat pva glue! If bubbling its still a chemical reaction happening!
Is it just 1 room? Chisel back to brick and replaster! This will be a weeks work to remove and skim again! What area do you live in! And don't ever use crown!!!

Right smell has came back I used silk to cover 1 month stayed away now back! I can't use strong stuff because asthma ! I'm going to use pva glue then emulsion. I so hate this smell!

I used silk paint which seals smell in been 3 weeks and now painted with dulux
Wilcos paint prob made by crown! You could use pva glue also works! Crown are refunding my money never will use crown! Breath easy range what a joke!

I hope so worst smell in the world! My hamster cage smelling bedroom, I going to smell walls now lol

Have painted 2 coats of dulux matt and has got rid off smell!
Never will I use crown breath easy! Funny how dulux don't make house stink! Something in crown reacts causing that ammonia smell not bacteria! I had used bq paint day before so recon it reacted to chemical in that paint!

I have painted walls with crown paint! And now it smelt of a ferret , was that bad stung my eyes and made my asthma bad! Spent £300 on paint and labour! I painted adjoining room in dulux proper paint and no smell from that room! So bacteria answer is a load of rubbish! And I have never had this prob...
