Thank you for the reply ericmark. Sadly I don't understand much of it. I'll check the existing plug to see its rating. Are you saying that if it is 13A it could overheat if used for say 30 mins? If I buy a specific immersion heater timer presumably this would replace the current plug/switch/socket a...

Sorry - I know nothing about electricity except it can be dangerous. My immersion heater cable ends in a plug which goes into a switched socket. It's rarely used but as far as I know works OK. I'd like to start using it more to take advantage of Economy 7 rates. Can I put a "standard" time...
