I solved this myself. I realised that these were hollow not solid after trawling the internet, so I drilled a whole in them and levered them off with a screw driver. Simples.

Hi, I want to remove some metal studs from the bottom of some old chairs I recently bought as I'm worried they will scratch my wooden floors.
