It's beaten me. The other socket (which happens to be a double with one operating a light on the upstairs landing) is very tidy with brown on COM and one black and a grey to L1 and L2. I worked out that only one of the blacks was needed to operate the light and the grey could go to the other neutral...

Thank you for the response, any idea what I should change?

I tried the grey (currently to L2) to join the other neutrals and the brown (currently to L2) elsewhere, but it wasn't working... :o)

Incorrect Wiring for New Light in Downstairs Hallway

Evening Our downstairs hallway light has two switches, but the one that switches it on must be used to turn it off. From searching around, I am not sure that a previous owner hasn't added the outside light incorrectly to one of the switches. I've drawn out the wiring to the socket and attached it. T...
