Thanks a lot for your help welsh brickie!!

I've smashed a fair amount from the bottom now..maybe too much but it was coming off in bigger chunks after a while.

I've added a new pic...job well done?

Is This Plaster Causing my Damp Issues Either Side of Bricked up Doorway

Hi all, Ive tried to update pictures to show this but I clearly have damp running either side of a bricked up doorway. I'm new to plastering, not sure what type of plaster has been used, any ideas? It's a 1930's house, semi detached and this is a wall in our hallway between the hall and living room....

Hi, i have an almost identical issue. Internal walls with damp showing at a consistent level.

Any hints or tips are hugely appreciated!!

All external walls are fine as is the area under the boards away from walls.

What do i need to do to get rid?

Thanks for your help!! I have stripped a bit of plaster and the brick under looks to be dry? Plaster was damp and crumbled very very easily. Pics have been added to the photobucket album... Im not aware of any pipes running under this part of the house, we are a way from the water supply and waste w...
