Cowboy shed

This is just a moan - the milk is well & truly spilled on this one. Two years ago I found some handy men to help put up a DIY shed. They turned up late, then they knocked off for a 3 hour lunch break because there were 'troubles at home'. Then they returned with an hour of daylight left to bodge...

Reflective Window Film for Solar Control?

Hi, Have a sun lounge which turns into an oven on very hot days. Can I apply Reflective Window Film to the windows and roof glass to cut down on the summer heat please? I have already hung up an indoor tarp which does help a bit, but not much: gives shade but does not prevent the heat from building ...

Re: BEKO LA620 / LAP622 Fridge Stops Working?

Thanks, it must have been the delay that was phasing me. Once going again, at 5 it started to cool right down inside so managed to get it down to 4.5 which gave me a steady 2 Celsius. Previous to that it was freezing everything! :-o

Re: BEKO LA620 / LAP622 Fridge Stops Working?

Set the thermostat back up to 5. About an hour later I noticed the fridge was humming again. Checked the temperature inside, it's now at 2 Celsius so panic over :D

Relief. The manual says to set the fridge at 5 during the summer anyway, then reduce as the weather cools down.

Re: Limited Cold Water and Water Pressure in Bungalow Shower

Shower is okay - still a bit eccentric. When you turn on the hot side of the dial the flow drains away but gets hot, then swing towards the cold side of the dial - the flow picks up, as the cold water kicks in. But at least I can get a decent shower in now :)

Many thanks!

BEKO LA620 / LAP622 Fridge Stops Working?

Hi, Have a BEKO LA620 / LAP622 4.8 cu ft larder fridge. Noticed it was turning fruit and milk to ice the other day so I set the thermostat down a notch or two. The fridge went off immediately. It did not come back on (humming noise). Today I set the thermo back up to max '5' and nothing happened. Ha...

Re: Limited Cold Water and Water Pressure in Bungalow Shower

Thanks, They replaced the ball(?) valve (looked like a blue ball) in the roof, but also said the cold water tank was quite small anyway, so to be sparing. The engineer was in no doubt that what was described on DIY Doctor was causing the water problem. Be interested to see what the shower gets up to...

Re: Limited Cold Water and Water Pressure in Bungalow Shower

Looks like the ballvalve in the cold water tank is blocked and you are drawing water faster than the tank can fill AH! Thanks :) Tried the shower again this evening, poor flow rate. Couple of years ago a local plumber said when it does this wave the shower head and point it downwards. When I did th...

Limited Cold Water and Water Pressure in Bungalow Shower

Hi, The showers in this bungalow have a mind of their own, you get them just right then they run hot - or go cold. But the most annoying thing is that the shower pressure drops away. No-one has ever been able to explain this. Normally the pressure picks up for a while, so I left my shower running - ...
