Concrete step

Just took wood away from step I have built out of concrete and obviously not done best of jobs as ugly holes in areas of step on the concrete !
Can you tell me how this was caused and how I can now remedy it

Ground level 6inch above air brick

I am lowering the ground level at back of house as I am told the damp in house is caused by the ground level getting higher over the years ! At the moment it is 6inch above the air bricks (air brick is visible as it is boxed off so air goes down and in !!! guess this is what whoever was thinking !) ...

Soil pipe into ground problem !

Just read project on new soil pipe: m and adaptor into ground,but I am not changing soil pipe . My soil pipe I think is possibly cast iron is ok but after some work on lowering the ground around the back of my house ( built up over the years and is to high) the clay pipe in ground, lip has half brok...

Air Bricks in house

I know over the years ground level has been lifted on my house and needs lowering !
At the moment my ground level around the back of the house is 3inch above air bricks !
How far below air brick should ground level be ?

Roof Tiles (Inside Loft)

Will be insulating and boarding out loft soon ! Before I insulate between rafters (know rules ect for air gap) want to make sure tiles are ok and sound so no future problems ! The tiles from inside loft seem to be fitted onto rafters with wood running in opposite direction, tiles sit in this timber ...

Make loft floor stronger ?

Want to make loft floor stronger for lots of storage !?
I know joists at moment are just for ceiling and can be boarded for storage and light foot traffic !
Will be insulating and boarding all round , just put light in.
BUT !! FOR NOW I NEED A STRONGER FLOOR SOLUTION
