Hi there, The main burner won't ignite in my Worcester 240 RSF despite the pilot light coming on. I've followed the fault finding section in the manual. This seems to be pointing to replacing the gas valve. I put the boiler on for central heating and did the following: The spark electrode seems fine...

hey htg,

thanks for your help. i got the new pressure gauge on saturday, drained the boiler that night. sunday i fit the new part, repressurised and turned heatin back on. left heating on for a good hour or so and no leaks... well chuffed!

hi guys, sorry to see there's so many of us having heating trouble at winter time hoping someone can put me in the right direction here i've come home today and found the c/h pressure at 0.5bar. immediately i've gone round all the rads and looked at ceilings to see where it must have leaked, nowhere...

Thanks htg engineer for your reply :) Well, further update on this is... When the boiler has packed up and when I open the plated screw sometimes it is running and sometimes it is not. I drained the boiler circuit and removed the pump. I then wired it up to a mains plug and plugged it into the mains...

Is the pump faulty dya think?

Update on this so far... Early this morning :( The boiler packed in again. I could hear the pump and it was stinging red hot to touch and radiators weren't getting any warmer. I opened up the screw on the pump and it wasn't running at all. Does this mean that the pump is on its way out? Any feedback...

hi htg engineer thanks for your reply yeah i've been thinking the same that it could be diverter valve or the pump; however it's working now. i opened up the screw on the pump last night and some bubbles came out. i can only think that the pump was being stubborn perhaps due to an airlock in itself....
