Beany - forget the big shed paints and take a look at Zinsser Perma White. It's tintable so any decorating store that sells it should be able to colour it. I had mine tinted to the Dulux Heritage range and it was spot on. It also has a high fungicide content so nothing nasty will grow in it. I am a ...

Valspar seem to have washed their hands of the problem. Nobody got back to me and it's been a week now. Will be overcoating the BIN with Zinsser Perma White tinted my colour. Feel so bad for your situation lindylu. This smell is vile. Can you actually smell it on the walls or ceiling. We smelt the Valspar on the staircase about 2 weeks after the room started smelling then it appeared on the walls. The paint companies should be ashamed of themselves allowing their busines...

No news from Valspar today. I don't actually think they know how to handle this problem very well. Probably scratching their heads as there are 3 customers in the last week who have this problem. If it affects 1 in 100,000 customers then customer service are talking rubbish. The maths doesn't add up...

BIN is a primer/sealer. It is very runny, eyewateringly chemically smelly to apply with a roller, high in VOC,s BUT it seals in the stench. I've been doing a bit of research into this.
