Re: CFL downlights

You have been looking at the wrong information. 2 pin or 4 pin refers to the "2d" fittings. What you have has a GU10 base (Just twist) as it is a CFL it is obsolete

Re: CFL downlights

Depends what type of fitting it is, oh and they are obsolete. Picture would help. It may push up and twist slightly, or it may unscrew

Why not call a few paint supply shops and ask them can they scan your liquid paint?

Re: Under Cabinet Lights

The lamps are probably g4 capsule lamps. They are usually like ceiling down lights, you slip something thin and blunt under the edge moving it round and pulling gently as you go. WATCH out for the butterfly springs, it hurts if they snap on your fingers.

Re: Where to find decent quality half glazed hardwood external door

A DIY store is the last place to look for a decent door. Like most forums, the probability of another forum member living near you, and so being able to suggest somewhere is virtually zero, with that in mind I suggest you try a search engine and look for a bespoke carpenter, it will not be cheap.

Re: paint for fence panels

For the cost of "paint" I would change all 3 panels then paint them.

Re: Bathroom panels - can I paint over that

Probably not. Best idea would be to change the panels, there are a lot of panels made just for bathrooms in lots of colours/patterns

Do what you like, unless the base is stable and level you are wasting your time.

Re: Bathroom Ceiling Light Replacement

That is how I would expect it to be wired. It is called the loop in method, there is nothing wrong with it, and as you found switching off the switch does not "kill" anything. I wouldn't want to see you get it all wrong, and as it is not what you expected, I can only suggest you get a comp...

You are supposed to install a dry lining box into the wall, then secure what your son has got to the dry lining box

Re: Bathroom fan not working, isolator also disconnecting light

The supply to the light is also connected to the isolator when it need not be. Without testing the cables to see which does what, you will have to follow the cables from the light to the switch to see which is in the wrong place or guess. If I said move the brown one, the obvious question would be w...

The colour of wire makes no difference, was the previous switch a dimmer? if so did it work ok?
