(Lighting is not a ring main) In your case, you have to provide your own terminal. Put it in a wago or a single connector block. Do NOT cut it off.

Sofit vents. You may already have them, but they could be blocked with all that glass fibre insulation you have. You will have to have a look.
The other thing is, where is all the damp air coming from? Lofts are usually cold and windy.
