Reducing Noise From Bicked up Chimney?

Hi,, I am about to start decorating the spare bedroom in my house and turn it into a nursery. The old fire place has been bricked up and there is now just a vent at the bottom of the chimney breast. The problem is that when it is windy it makes an awful noise which I think would scare a baby/toddler...
