Conrete Mix Without Sand for Re-Pointing

I should have checked the bag on this one, instead of buying the read mix mortar for some basic re-pointing, i picked up cement. Having mixed and applied it without cement, any advice on what might happen? I'm thinking it'll probably just wear away quicker and need re-done sooner? Anything i can do ...
