Re: Big Gaps at the Base of the Wall, What to do Next ?

You removed all the skirting boards to remove the wallpaper ? Why didnt you just run round the top of the skirting board with a stanley blade and then strip all the wallpaper off, would have saved you so much work, time and effort. If they are big gaps, I would thoroughly clean out, pva the gaps and...

Is there any chance that the wall colour under the lining paper were painted pink and if they were then obviously the lining paper has shrunk and you are seeing through the butted up edges. If they have shrunk best way to remedy it is to fill up over the paper joins and then sand down, touch up the ...

Re: Paint Coming off Plasterboard With Wallpaper in big Chunks

You shouldn't use a steam stripper to get paper off if the walls are plasterboard as it softens the face of the plasterboard and that will end up coming off. If you are trying to get painted embossed wallpaper off it is best to dry scrape the front layer off and then wet in with a brush the backing ...

Re: Paint Blistering Around Edge of Filler

I would scrape off as much as I could and thoroughly dust area, I would then give the whole area a coat of Zinsser bin and allow to dry. I would then fill all areas with a good filler for example Toupret, once filler is dry sand down and dust, apply a coat of Zinsser bin over all of the filler and a...

Scrape it down again and refill and sand it all down and give it a good dusting down. Apply a coat of Zinserr over all the filler patches, all Zinserr to dry and then apply your top coats.

Re: Using Bathroom Paint but it Keeps Brushing off?

It sounds like the paint is drying to quick, open as many windows as you can to make it cooler in the bathroom as your painting, you could thin down the first coat a little with clean cold water.

Re: Yellowing white paint on radiator

As previously said you never paint gloss over gloss, it doesnt adhere to the surface, you need to undercoat first before putting on the gloss, and if the gloss is old that can half the problem with paint yellowing, you could always paint it with radiator paint

Re: This paint stinks!!!!

Old paint will smell, oil based paints smell, until they completely phase out oil based paints and every paint goes eco friendly paint will always smell.
But there is a lot more eco friendly paints available and I would say in the next 5 years all oil based paints will be phased out.
