Stud wall - quick question

Hi Folks, I need to build a stud wall against an existing uneven wall, with enough clearance to add the eggbox type membrane and some insulation. My problem is that to maximise the space between the stud wall and the existing stone wall, id like to place the studs width ways - so in stead of the 3x2...

Building Regs for a Stud Wall Install?

Hi.
Do I need to engage local building regs dept if I want to install a stud wall to a stone lime rendered internal wall?
The wall is not damp and is part of a barn conversion with no listing.
Need to install a kitchen and the stone wall is uneven, plus I find it ugly.

Re: Installing a Stud/Dry Lining to a Stone Wall

Hmmm... ok then.... any recommendations on what sort of vapour barrier to use? Type, manufacturer.... that kind of thing?

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question....

Installing a Stud/Dry Lining to a Stone Wall

Good morning folks. I would like to dry line or stud the kitchen walls in a 170 year old converted barn. The consensus may be that I am wrong to cover all the lovely exposed stonework but I want to be able to install a new kitchen and tile the walls for cleanliness and to add a nice modern look. The...
