Toilet (cistern) is making a high pitched 'hooting' sound towards the last 20 to 30 seconds of refilling after a flush. All other aspects of flush seem ok. Can anyone offer any advice on how I can fix this?

Doh!! I feel such a fool. It is indeed dry because I have a combi boiler and the tank is no longer a part of the system. I read the boiler manual and learned how o refill from there.
