peglar bath mixer tap

Has anyone tried repairing a peglar mixer tap? The handle which sits in the middle has just become 'floppy', water can only now be got out of the bath spout and turning the lever, which used to make the water come out of the shower, has no effect. We used gripps to take the nut out, and there's anot...

cracks in old house

We have a victorian inner terraced house, and there is a large crack, about a cm wide, in an inner wall in the kitchen. There are lots of other smaller cracks, eg, where the wall and ceiling meet, but this one is much wider than the others. Have checked with next door and it doesn't go right through...

seconadary double galzing in old house

We have an old victorain house and the windows are draughty single glazed ones. Some of them are also shaped at the top. We live in a conservation area and I'm not sure we would be allowed to replace them, even if we could afford to. We want to make the windows less draughty and wondered if we could...

using perspex in shower area

We have put up a shower head over our bath, and the water is damaging the paint on the wall. We are about to redecorate, and rather than just using bathroom paint, we wondered if it would be better to put a panel of perspex there. has anyone else tried this? We're unsure about how to fix it, and wet...

Paintwashing T and g

I want to paint a wall which has T and G on it, and would like it to have a rural, non-perfect finish. I was wondering if woodwash paint would be ok, but I've only seen this for outside projects. Would it be ok to use on T and G? Or can anyone suggest what else might suit-it's for an old house in Fr...

Cracks in Victorian bathroom

We have a fairly wide crack which runs along the join between ceiling and wall, then diagnally across a corner of our bathroom. The house was built about 1890. I've looked on the projects page and found some information about using flexible filler called decoraters caulk, but the pictures attached t...
