Re: How long for plaster to fully dry before painting

As you said it depends on the weather where you are, since I am not there I do not know what the conditions are, the longer you leave it the better it will be.

I searched and I found videos of how to programme your programmer dating back 12 years ago, so yes the design is old, but you can still buy them today.

Re: Turning current wetroom into a bathroom

You can add a bath to a wet room, but it is not possible to see from this end of a keyboard, I suggest you get a bathroom fitter to come round and have a look. Don't be surprised if he says most of it will have to come out.

Re: upgrading under cabinet lights

So long as the existing power supply is the same voltage (12v) and it can supply the minimum current for the total number of new lights then yes it will work. To establish this, you will need to look at the power rating of the existing power supply.

Re: Toilet seat - how to remove?

NEVER force it, you will break something. The toilet seats I have seen have either long bolts going through part of the seat with nuts underneath (Just as you say) but some have what I can only describe as giant rawlplugs. They work on the same principal as rawlplugs, and do NOT protrude. Once insta...

If the roof is that old, change the whole valley. If you do half a job it often costs more in the long run

Re: changing power shower to thermostatic one

It would depend on where the pipes that supply your current shower are as to if you would have to "rip the wall out" to fit a new shower. As for an electric shower you would need to have a large (10mm cable) installed as a good electric shower uses 10 KWatts (More than 3 electric kettles a...

In terms of cost/time etc how much, for instance, for single storey extension?
Ask the local council what they will allow, pay an architect to draw what it is you want, then pay a builder to cost it all for you.

You seem to have answered your own question, if in doubt read the manual, preferably first.

Re: Advice on Repairing a Broken Lamp

You need a means to secure the lamp holder to what remains, I suspect the part for the job is broken, even if it wasn't broken, you, by your own admission would not know what to do. However, since your neighbour is of the opinion it can be repaired, ask him to do it. I understand you don't want to d...

Re: Advice on Repairing a Broken Lamp

Was it by any chance knocked it over? It doesn't need a new cable, the part that would secure the lamp holder is missing. It looks like a generic production line lamp = no spares. No spares, no repair. Nothing you can do with it.

@ch3shirecat4, if it was a el cheapo brand I would agree with you, but he did say Miele.

Have you seen the price of the average Miele, (£1,149.00) They are also expected to last for at least 20 years

I just looked, there are several HDMI splitters available that can have 1 input and send it to 2 outputs (TV screens) As with most online purchases, read the reviews first.

Re: Switch 2 hinge doors for sliding doors between kitchen and living room

I suspect as there is a kitchen they might be fire rated doors, you would need to check first. Even if they are not, it will neither be easy or cheap to alter them.
