Structural load beams on a timber frame

by Rbanksy » Tue Jul 14, 2020 1:42 pm

I have a detached timber frame house with a single skin of bricks.

I am getting conflicting quotes and advise on the load requirements.

Half of conversion companies tell me telebeam is the only way to go and half of companies tell me steel is no problem at all.

Telebeam is expensive.

Does anyone know what would work and what the catches are?

Hi rbanksy
Suggest you try a flitch beam but you will need to have load calculations.
