Hot water tap on kitchen mixer sprays everywhere

by garryv » Thu May 15, 2008 8:05 pm

Hi,

I have a mixer tap in the kitchen. The cold water runs fine but when I turn on the hot water it sprays in all directions from the spout. Is this a case of replacing the whole mixer or is it a problem with the hot tap only? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

G,

YOU MAY HAVE THE TYPE OF TAP WITH A FILTER INSERT OR FLOW SPOUT FITTING SCREWED INTO THE OUTFLOW OF TAP AND IS REMOVABLE TO CLEAR ANY DEBRI THAT MIGHT HAVE BECOME TRAPPED BEHIND.

AS IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE HOT WATER OUTFLOW, I WOULD SAY IT WILL BE FRAGMENT/S OF RUBBER WASHER OR POSSIBLY DIAPHRAGM DEBRI IF YOU HAVE A COMBI BOILER.(THIS IS NORMAL BUT CAN BE AN EARLY SIGN OF DIAPHRAGM FAILURE ON ITS WAY SO TO SPEAK).

A.
